We enjoyed visiting Mt St Helens so much that we actually went up there twice!
We headed to the Johnston Ridge Observatory for the best views and accessible trails for the little ones.
On our second trip up we left the little ones in Portland with Mema and went up to explore the Ape Caves. Due to time constraints, we only went in the lower cave, which took about an hour. It was decided that on our next visit we would make time for the longer cave explorations.
We were also able to take a small hike by the Ape Caves which included a suspension bridge over a rushing river and waterfall.
