7 Quick Takes

Ahh, summer. The time in our house where every towel is damp from pool use and humidity.

I just love our little hamster Neptune! He is the perfect pet as he requires nothing from me. Click his cage to give him a treat. He likes them!

It was a bittersweet week for us as we said goodbye to some very special friends. James is probably taking it the hardest as he had to say final goodbyes to his best friend. My heart breaks for him, but I know we will see this awesome family again on one of our cross-country journeys. The friendship isn't over, it's just a new chapter!

For all you readers in Denver, you are gaining an amazing family to your city!

I am currently designing a workbox system for Margaret for her Pre-K/ Kindergarten year next year. I know, I know, I am very late to jump on the workboxes wagon. But the truth is I've avoided it because it just seemed like so much work. And you know what? It is so much work!

I am compiling ideas for activities and items I can place in the workboxes. I appreciate any and all suggestions and websites.

I love pinterest for things like #4. Another blogger said how pinterest is like crack. I have to agree. I get on there for just a quick sec, next thing I know my kids are demanding dinner and I haven't fed them lunch yet.

Not my classroom. Just pinterest-wishing.

See those red eyes? Maybe my husband was right for the second time in our marriage and I did add too much chlorine to the pool. Or maybe Isaac just has sensitive eyes to begin with. Yeah, that's probably it.

Check out more Quick Takes over at Conversion Diary. They're fun to read. I promise.

LOL I love Erica's homeschool room too.

I would love to have that table set up but I don't think my hubby will let me buy that set up since we just got the desks we have last year. lol

But during our next Ikea trip I am going to buy my little one the same desk as her sister and arrange them like a table in the middle of the room. I'd like more wall space for hanging stuff.

Oh pinterest...great and horrible at the same time! I would love a school room but am thankful for my kitchen table! I found you through hsmj link-up...

I too am working on the workboxes and the learning library. Hubby and the boys moved in a huge piano into a tiny crawlspace of a room, and it finally gets moved out on Tuesday. I am excited for a room makeover!

Oh, we have that same white dress your little girl is wearing, only in two different and larger sizes :). Pinterest is amazing and terrible at the same time don't you think? Whenever I actually complete something that I found on pinterest I blog about it. I call it the pintrest project. I thought it would give me more accountability. It is not going very well. Workboxes intrigue me, but they seem like, well -- a lot of work!

I am a Pinterest addict too. Erica's school room is what inspired my IKEA school room makeover this past January. I wish my room was as big as hers. :)

Yup. I've been mad-pinning school room ideas myself! And workboxes are a lot of work! But I know a lot of families who love them. I thought they worked best for our littlest ones. (PreK/toddlers). We used a lot of file folder games and activities in a bag.

These pictures are even more inspiration for me to get organizing.

Love to look at organizing and schoolroom ideas on Pinterest. I could never accomplish it though. I need a separate budget just for organizing supplies! LOL That's my excuse and I'm sticking with it.
