Yeah For Free Stuff!!!

I was lucky enough to be chosen to be on a homeschool curriculum review group! That means that I am going to be receiving a lot of free stuff in exchange for an honest review of that stuff on this blog.

I was grouped with some other homeschooling mamas:

This is going to be a great year!

Dear Teacher's at Step-Up

Dear Teacher's at Step-Up (the program the boys participate in during the school year),

Please let us parents know when you send perishables home in the backpacks of the children. Especially when those perishable items are hardboiled eggs. I would just hate to think about not finding those eggs for nearly three months and having to throw away said backpack and various other items that were touching said backpack. Not to mention trying to remove the smell of rotton eggs from the location of the backpack.

Sincerly,
A parent who now resides at a house that smells of rotton eggs.

Dinner with the Neighbors

We are settling in back home and getting right down to doing our regular things.

Summer Sports are Here

Henry's Plan for the Day

Henry wants to do this in our living room. Because, hey, we have all the furniture. Only our table is round. Okay, maybe it won't work with a round table.

Father's Day

Has it really been three days? Yikes! Here are some photos from our Father's Day. The kids made cards for Michael.

Isaac even made him a special Father's Day crown.

Michael said what he really wanted to do was go for a hike. The weather was perfect so we set off for Wolf Rocks.

The hike turned out to be quite longer than we anticipated. But the kids were real troopers and made it the whole way there on the loop.

Isaac wore one of his nicest shirts for the special day.

Margaret ended up walking about 3/4 of the way, even though the trail was rocky and uneven!

The kids decided it was worth the effort to get there. The view was amazing and the rocks had tunnels and hideouts to play in.

Home Again

We returned home Thursday afternoon to a fridge stocked by our wonderful neighbors. There were two dinners, eggs, milk, homemade bread, muffins, and chocolate chip cookie bars. Talk about a warm welcome! Small town life treats us well. Within two hours of being home we had seen more of our friends than we had seen in our entire two weeks in the Pacific Northwest. As you can see in the above photo, the children wasted no time getting back down to doing regular things. And for those of you interested, we drove the entire 3000 miles in three and a half days. We did this by driving from 8am to midnight everyday. That's right. We're totally awesome.

Bridges

It's funny how when you live in a place with bridges, it is annoying when you don't "make the bridge" and have to wait for it to go up. But visit that same place as a tourist, and getting caught on the bridge is an exciting adventure!
