If you are looking for a nice Christian addition to your bookshelves, this is the book you should consider. Good Morning, God is written by Davis Carman and published by Apologia Press. It features a small child as he journeys through the days of the week learning from his parents and speaking to God.
Something that really appealed to my family was the simplicity of the book. It was a wonderful morning activity enjoyed by every one of my four children ages 2 to 8. We followed the sugggestions for using the book found in the opening pages and read some of the book every day from Sunday to the following Sunday. This allowed us to focus on the text and the meaning of the lessons presented.
The simple line drawings and watercolor painting kept the interest of the younger children; while the older children were able to thoughtfully navigate the questions that followed each daily reading. Some examples of the questions are: "Why are you thankful for your family?" and "How can you love God with all of your mind?"
This book retails for $14 and can be found on the Apologia Website. In addition to this darling book you can check out all the other wonderful products offered by Apologia including (but not limited to) elementary level science materials, writing programs, and information about their live, on-line, teacher led classes at Apologia Academy.
