The Birthday Party (Number 1 of 3)

Isaac had the first of several birthday celebrations this past weekend. He will turn seven (?!?!?!) on December 20. We kept the party smaller than usual because he wanted a LEGO party and the cost of that can really add up!I got all the ideas for the party off the internet. Here is the cake, made to look like a LEGO block. Isaac chose the color and mixed it himself.
We had several LEGO building competitions and prizes awarded in categories such as "Kids Choice," "Most Creative" and "Best Flying Machine."

The creations were displayed and judged by some moms that stayed to help out.

We also had a vehicle building and racing competition. Michael built the ramp in our basement and each kid constructed a vehicle to race. To make it more fair each vehicle had to meet specific weight requirements before it would qualify to race. Sadly none of my kids even made it past the first elimination round.

We had to use duplos for the vehicle competion because of lack of LEGO wheels.

Birthday Cake and presents followed all the competitions and awards.
