Homeschool Field Trip

Our area is exploding with homeschool activities- many of them free. A local State Park offers a free nature education class to homeschoolers on the first Thursday of the month. My boys LOVE the program. It is divided into two age groups. The younger group (the one all my children are in) usually do a craft first. Today they made 3-D trees and leaf rubbings.

After the craft, the Nature Lady (I think her name is Paula?) take the kids on a little hike. Last month we hiked on an actual trail, but today we mostly stayed on the main road and maintained paths. The ages in the group range from 2 to 7 years old.

Hmmm. Are my kids even in this photo?

What a fun way to explore the natural beauty of our surrounding area!
